Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Best wishes!
Now, when all recent celebrations are over and I have some free time to devote to the idea of the present blog, which is still the same: to provide travelers with true and reliable information concerning your experiences and thoughts about hotels, B&Bs, hostels and any other type of accommodations around Europe and worldwide.
I think I will start with the pleasant hotel in Bristol, UK, where I stayed during my last business trip in November, 2007. This is the Berkeley Square Hotel in Bristol rated 3-stars. This Georgian style hotel is close to Bristol University, where I had a business meeting with some of our partners: the closeness to the university was really the reason why I chose this hotel to stay in, as this was my first visit to the city and I didn’t want to spend much of my time on asking how to get there or wasting it in public transport.
This mid-range Bristol hotel turned out to be a beautiful, elegant 5-floor old building with colourful modern interior. I had booked a single-bedded en suite room before actually arriving to Bristol, so there were almost no problems with checking in. The room featured wireless internet access digital multi-channel TV, CD and DVD player. It was also equipped with pleasant extras, such as note-pad by the phone, complimentary fruit, fresh tea, coffee and a decanter of Bristol Sherry. But there was a problem: the heating thermostat was broken and it was very rainy and cold that day, but the staff response was helpful – the provision of an adjustable spanner for the radiator valve saved the situation and the heating control worked! Staff was professional and warm.
Going to continue later, I’ve got some urgent work to do from my boss.
