Excellent location is the biggest plus of the Hotel Novotel Berlin: the Tiergarten S-bahn station is right across the street (I am a light sleeper, but street noise didn’t bother, and I had a good night’s rest), Berlin s Tiergarten park is nearby and only minutes from Kurfurstendamm (very popular boulevard among Berliners and visitors), not far from Berlin Tegel International Airport (where I landed).
The Novotel Berlin Hotel is comparatively large, it was very clean inside and the young English speaking staff were very friendly and attentive. Hotel facilities included a restaurant, a bar (bar prices were a little steep), conference premises, private parking, spa and fitness areas and facilities for disabled people.
I got a good sized clean room with safe and a small fridge full of beverages, of course all basic room amenities were available as well. As for meal plan - buffet breakfast was included in the room price, excellent choice of food and drink.
There was really nothing to complain about this hotel except the fact that you needed the keycard to operate the elevator – it annoyed me sometimes.
The overall impression of the the Novotel Berlin Am Tiergarten hotel is very positive and I’d stay there again if I went back to Berlin.
]]>Hotel Gereon doesn’t have any single rooms, but offers cosy double apartments suitable for single use, triple rooms as well as quad rooms for up to 4 guests. My colleague reserved a double room; there was a shower, toilet, heating, work-desk and a colour TV set available in the room. Internet was available as well. The room was very clean; the staff of the hotel seemed to be friendly, though there were some language problems. Breakfast was included in the room price, though their daily breakfast menu could have been more diverse, but you could enjoy your food in the hotel-owned cafe in the open-air.
Perfect location and low rates are the advantages of Hotel Gereon in Cologne, while lack of room facilities and provided services could be considered as disadvantages. Don’t expect anything extraordinary here. Anyway, if you don’t care much of services and need just a clean and comfortable place to sleep in Cologne, choose that cheap Cologne hotel.
Many thanks to the colleague for sharing the information.
]]>Our room was very spacious and full of light. The very air of this cheap Florence hotel was full of romance and country charm. As we asked for a room with a good view, we were settled in room with balcony, which had a panoramic view of Florence and the surrounding countryside. The room was really clean, cute and cheerful. It was decorated with country furniture and lavish fabrics, which was something different from what we used to, but that was just what we needed at the moment. By the way, bring mosquito repellent as mosquitoes are very active in the evenings and at night, or keep your windows closed – rooms are properly air-conditioned.
The garden had a big open-air swimming pool, tennis courts and a children’s playground. There was a lovely bar area where it was nice to rest with a drink; Hotel Villa Rondini offers some beauty treatments in a small spa.
Breakfast included in our room rate was delicious (if you are there don’t miss a chance to try bistecca fiorentina – it’s really tasty!)
In our opinion, Hotel Villa le Rondini is an ideal place for romantic occasions, we have no hesitation to recommend it.”
]]>The staff at the reception desk were very attentive. The check in was very quick, even though the hotel was very busy. There were a lot of people in the lobby, but the elevators were too narrow and slow to handle with the volume of traffic. However, this is a usual situation in most European hotels, so it was expected.
My room looked a little bit old-fashioned, but there was everything I needed to spend a couple of days. It was quite small, but acceptable. The bed was comfy, the room was air-conditioned. There was a good selection of channels on satellite and cable television. The bathroom was very clean and had a very nice shower.
The roof top restaurant-bar “Olive Garden” is probably the best thing about Titania Hotel. It was really fabulous with breathtaking views of the Acropolis and the city. The food was very expensive, but it was just excellent.
Titania Hotel Athens is a perfect base for exploring Athens. Metro station is close to the hotel and in only a couple of stops you will be at the foot of the Acropolis. Lively Omonia Square is not far from Titania Hotel, you can easily get there on foot.
In my opinion, the Titania Hotel is an acceptable business and budget Athens hotel.”
]]>“I stayed in Hotel Ipek Palas Istanbul, for 4 nights. I booked the hotel on-line, as I usually do. I was looking for a centrally located cheap hotel in Istanbul and this hotel seemed to be situated right in the center of Istanbul and close to the city’s historical sights such as Grand Bazar, Spice Bazar, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, etc. So, Hotel Ipek Palas is close both to city’s amenities and most important historical attractions, which makes this hotel a convenient place to stay both for leisure and business travelers. It is also easy to get to the hotel from the local airport, a tram stop is just a block away from the hotel so can get the tram everywhere around the city for cheap. Moreover, Hotel Ipek Palas is comparatively cheaper than other 3-star hotels in Istanbul.
I had a single room on the fifth floor. My room was clean and cosy though it wasn’t very big. The bathroom was very clean as well and new towels were given daily. The air conditioner in my room worked perfectly, the room would be cool in less than 5 minutes. Generally, the room was quite OK for the price I paid.
Breakfast was included in the price and it was quite good, but I think they should serve more hot dishes for breakfast.
If I turn out to be in Istanbul, I will definitely stay in Hotel Ipek Palas.”
Today I would like to share my experience of staying in StayAt Helsinki Parliament hotel, 3-star hotel in Helsinki. I traveled to the capital of Finland on business and couldn’t see much of the city’s sights, but it still was very handy to live in the centrally located Helsinki hotel. In spite of StayAt Helsinki Parliament hotel’s central location (in the Tölö area of the city, just behind the Parliament House and the National Museum), my hotel room was extremely quiet – no outside noise at all.
My Helsinki hotel apartment turned out to be very spacious compared to rooms in other European hotels where I stayed. The room itself, the windows, curtains and the linen were spotless. There was a perfect in-room kitchen, which gave a sense of independence. The kitchen was equipped with cooking utensils, a microwave oven and huge a refrigerator. Everything worked properly, but the fridge seemed to be too noisy. I liked hot and powerful shower in my clean and compact bathroom. Fresh towels were available every day.
Breakfast was included in the room price, but the choice of food offerd by the waitress was rather poor. Moreover, the room assigned for having breakfast was very small and sometimes it was almost impossible to get a seat there. The service was friendly and quick.
All in all, if you are looking for a nice, cheap place with no frills to stay in the center of Helsinki I would highly recommended StayAt Helsinki Parliament hotel. I am sure you won’t be disappointed.
Bye for now!
]]>I am back with a new hotel review to share. The information about the following cheap accommodation in Glasgow was kindly provided by my friend’s son. He (with some of his close friends) has been to Glasgow recently. They were looking for a budget Glasgow accommodation in the city center and, at last, this group of students opted to stay in Mclays Guest House in Glasgow. They have heard some complementary reviews about this cheap Glasgow accommodation and booked rooms in Mclays Guest House Glasgow. On their arrival they were very pleasantly surprised by the guest house’s friendly atmosphere and even more by its very central location! The address of Mclays Guest House is 264 to 276 Renfrew Street, Glasgow. There are so many museums, art galleries, restaurants, let alone the best shopping centre in Scotland, close to Hotel Mclays Guest House Glasgow that this place is almost the best accommodation choice to stay on budget in Glasgow.
They had two very good sized rooms with shower and toilet to the right of the reception. Rooms were clean and beds comfy. The sheets and towels were spotless. The bathroom looked like it had been updated recently, the shower was just great! Room amenities included a colour television with satellite channels, tea and coffee making facilities and a telephone. A full English breakfast was also included in the price of the room. The breakfast was ordinary, but good enough to set you up for the rest of the day. And the waitresses were helpful.
So, if you want somewhere that’s cheap, comfortable and friendly, somewhere to sleep in Glasgow you should consider staying in Mclays Guest House Glasgow.
Thanks for Alex for the information. Bye!
]]>Here I am back with a new hotel review. This time it is Austria Classic Hotel Binders Innsbruck, Austria. That’s not really my review, but my brother’s. Anyway, he provided me with the information about this 4-star cheap hotel in Innsbruck. The hotel could be considered cheap in comparison with other city center hotels in Innsbruck of the same star rating.
The area, where Austria Classic Hotel Binders Innsbruck is located is very quiet and it is easy to get to the city center using public transport or on foot. The Olympic Ice Stadium was nearby.
The single room, which was booked in advance, was very new. The balcony of his room was facing the mountains. In-room facilities were the following: bathroom, toilet, satellite TV and pay TV, radio, heating, work desk, alarm clock, hairdryer. The LCD TV was superb, but the heating didn’t work properly. The automatic lighting and the nice interior decoration were quite impressive.
Breakfast was not included and cost EUR 7.00 per person. My brother is a fast food fan, that’s why preferred having pizza instead of standard breakfast variety of food. He said it was very-very delicious and served until late at night in their small restaurant/bar area. It was a pleasant place to chat with friends, moreover there was internet access there.
The personnel of the Austria Classic Hotel Binders Innsbruck were very friendly, kind and always ready to help.
My brother liked the place, and said that he would stay in Austria Classic Binders Hotel in Innsbruck again.
That was my brother’s hotel information. Thanks him a lot!
]]>Quality Hotel Central Glasgow is located right downtown in the very interesting old building, to put it more precisely – it is housed in Glasgow’s landmark building of elegance. At the same time, one could hardly find cheap Glasgow hotel in the city center convenient both for business and leisure travelers, especially for those who has not stayed in Glasgow before: within walking distance to the Central Station Complex, museums and art galleries, shopping centres, pubs and restaurants. In other words, there is everything to enjoy the city to your heart’s content.
A colleague of mine came to Quality Central Hotel Glasgow for some business reasons, as the hotel offers business facilities and is acceptable to hold different business events, such as presentations, business meetings and negotiations.
As the colleague booked a room in the hotel well in advance, checking in process didn’t take him long. He got his room on the fourth floor; it was equipped with TV set, iron and hairdryer, tea and coffee facilities, snug bed and clean roomy bathroom. There were no complaints about the room and room facilities, but he couldn’t find “do not disturb” sign. The staff was ready to help and quick to response.
Buffet breakfast was not included in the room price, but it was just great. The colleague liked really fresh fruit salad served there.
Quality Hotel Central Glasgow left a pleasant impression and could be recommended to stay in.
]]>A standard double room in Sandton Hotel Eindhoven City Centre was booked for him by his assistance. Compared to other city center hotels in Eindhoven of the same star rating, Sandton Hotel Eindhoven City Centre is reasonably priced. The location of the hotel is very convenient both for business stopovers (500 metres from the railway station and 8 kilometres from Eindhoven International Airport, very close to the city center. Conference rooms with modern facilities allow to hold business meetings, conferences, presentations and so on) and leisure travelers (museums, concert hall, park, public gardens as well as restaurants and bars are within walking distance from the hotel).
My colleague’s room was of middle size with the following standard hotel amenities: heating, bathroom, toilet, telephone, TV with paid channels, Internet access, work desk and alarm clock. The remote control was not working, but the staff was very service-minded and quick to response the requests, soon there was no problems with that. Unfortunately, there were no tea/coffee facilities available in the room, the fact disappointed the colleague.
Buffet breakfast, delicious and filling, was included in the room price.
My business acquaintance considers Sandton Hotel Eindhoven City Centre a good cheap Eindhoven hotel in the city center and would recommend to book rooms in this hotel to anyone.
