I go on to make my own overview of the budget hotel in Madrid - Petit Palace Tres Cruces hotel, a city center hotel in Madrid, which I have started in the previous post.
I arrived to the local airport took the tube and when I got off the Gran Via tube station (main city centre) I just got around the corner to find the Petit Palace Tres Cruces hotel. The main public parking (Plaza del Carmen) was nearby. Many of the best city sights could be easily reached without using public transport: I visited some of them - Gran Via, the Royal Palace, Puerta del Sol and Prado Museum. It’s a pity that I didn’t have enough time to see many other sights of the city, I just hope to explore Madrid another time. But, I still could experience the city’s famous nightlife with a couple of friends and I didn’t have to go far: a great number of bars, cafes and restaurants situated in the area surrounding the Petit Palace Tres Cruces hotel. If you turn out to be there some day go to La Finca de Susana, a really pleasant restaurant with very delicious food and friendly service, you liked it. It’s located in Arlaban, 4, just about 2-3 minutes walk from Puerta de Sol. All in all, this hotel enjoys the best city center location.
The Madrid Hotel Petit Palace Tres Cruces is housed in an early 20th century building, which looks very stylish though.

Today I would like to share my own experience of staying in a 3-star Madrid hotel - Petit Palace Tres Cruces.
I turned out to be in Madrid not for a business stopover as usual, the reason was my close friend’s family occasion. As I had arranged a few days off, I decided to combine the event with the city exploration. In spite of the fact that Spain is the country of my birth and Madrid is the city where I often travel on business, I don’t know the capital well enough as I usually lack the time to see the sights. Thus, the city center Madrid hotel close to the city sights and public transport was my goal. After searching an appropriate mid-range Madrid accommodation in the Internet and asking my friends for their opinions and recommendations, I made my choice - Petit Palace Tres Cruces, because this hotel ideally met my requirements.
I must say that Petit Palace Hotel in Madrid turned out to be perfectly located in the centre of Madrid within close proximity to the metro station, 50 meters from the Gran Via and a short walk to Plaza De Mayor and most attractions. The hotel is located right off the main Gran Via street area, and only a 1 to 2 minute walk down Tres Cruces. The exact address of this hotel in Madrid is Tres Cruces 6 (esquina Gran Via 26).
Sorry, but I have just received some urgent work, so I will continue later on.

Hello!
The details of the Marseille hotel I am going to describe now have been presented by one of my colleagues. I would like to thank him for sharing information with me and, in turn, with all those travelers who are interested in facts related to the hotels worldwide.
The name of this considerably cheap hotel in Marseille is Inter Hotel Rome et Saint Pierre. It’s a three-star hotel situated in the center of Marseille and within walking distance from the Vieux Port and the Canebiere. The old harbour, which is believed to be the major tourist area in the city, is very close to the hotel as well. Inter Hotel Rome et St Pierre offers more than 40 single, double, twin, triple and quadruple rooms. Unfortunately, my colleague’s arrival coincided with the expected Rugby World Cup (in the middle of October, 2007), that’s why his room turned out to be a little bit overpriced. The hotel was a standard three-star cheap Marseille hotel; the colleague of mine had a double room, which was spacious enough and equipped with air-conditioning, cable TV, mini-bar, direct dial telephone, wireless Internet connection, hair dryer, heating: nothing special, but everything was clean and wisely organized. The shower was very clean, but the shower curtain was absent (it feels more comfortable if there is one; moreover, it allows to avoid splashing the bathroom floor). One should keep in mind that breakfast is not included in the room price; my colleague had to pay extra EUR 9.00 to enjoy the meal, which was delicious and well-served.
The overall impression of my colleague’s stay in Inter Hotel Rome et Saint Pierre in Marseille was positive.
Rennie Mackintosh City Hotel - Cheap Hotel in Glasgow

Today I would like to make a small overview of a budget hotel in Glasgow, where I stayed when visiting the city with some business purposes a year ago.
I decided to stay in the Rennie Mackintosh City Hotel in Glasgow mostly because of its central location right in the centre of Glasgow neighbouring the mainline Glasgow Central Station, just a few minutes walk from famous city museums, cafes, and restaurants. In case you want to spend some money on shopping, you can easily do that in the nearby shopping centers just a few minutes away from the hotel. Despite its closeness to the city center places of entertainment, there were no problems with the noise, my room was very quiet though the windows of my room overlooked the street side. My room wasn’t at all modern, but perfectly clean, the bed was quite comfortable. Everything in the room was basic: TV, telephone, shower, hairdryer, heating, work desk, but most importantly everything was clean. There were some faults we encountered, however: the lack of a lift and a very steep hill leading to the hotel. I think it can be a real problem for older travelers. Of course, it was not the Ritz Hotel but for £49.95 a night including a satisfactory traditional Scottish breakfast in a central location you really couldn’t complain! I should also mention a very friendly and considerate staff of the Rennie Mackintosh City Hotel.
I would recommend this hotel for those who want to stay on budget in Glasgow and enjoy the central location. The address of the Rennie Mackintosh City Hotel in Glasgow is: 218 Renfrew Street Garnethill. This is a 2 star hotel in Glasgow.
Good-bye for now!
Berkeley Square Hotel - Cheap Bristol Hotel, UK (Part 2)

Let me continue my overview of the pleasant Berkeley Square Hotel in Bristol, UK.
This hotel is considered to be a flagship of the Clifton Hotel Group; people say that its cool decoration is a result of a renovation. When staying in this charming Bristol hotel we had a small informal business meeting in the lounge, they had a fine traditional English dining menu. I must say that the food was exceptional. There was also private members club called The Square, hotel guests had full access to the club for the duration of their stay in the hotel. You could also enjoy a relaxing atmosphere (Berkeley Square Hotel in Bristol does not make you feel regimented like so many other big hotel chains do) and the artwork in the lounge or have a snack and a cocktail downstairs in the lower deck.
One more thing I liked about this Bristol hotel is that there is a quiet, green space within a short walk across a very beautiful Georgian square; I used to relax there after all those boring business meetings. Unfortunately, I didn’t had much time to explore the city itself and the popular sights as I was busy most of the time. But, those who come to Bristol not on business but for pleasure will find out that Berkeley Square Hotel is well placed for visiting some of the top attractions in Bristol - the Clifton Suspension Bridge, Bristol Zoo and Gardens, the Royal West of England Academy and Europe leading contemporary arts centre, the Arnolfini. Maybe, next time I will have some time to see the sights and, in this case, I will definitely choose Berkeley Square Hotel Bristol.
That is all, I think. If there is anybody who has stayed in this inexpensive Bristol hotel, welcome to share your opinion of the hotel! The more opinions we have the better choice we make!
