How to be a Canadian (warning: requires a flag, a beaver or a mountie, eh?)

Although Kelly, our regional Pocket Cultures contributor from Canada, loves to travel and see the world, she knows a good thing when shes got it: home (Vancouver, Canada). Here, Kelly tells us all about why the worst-dressed city is really one of the best places in the world to live. Just reading Kellys comments about Canadian landscapes, peoples good sense of humor and friendly, laid back culture makes me want to go back for a visit!

Where do you live? Where are you from? If those are different, can you tell us a little about what inspired your move?

I’ve been there

Australian country music legend Slim Dusty spent a lifetime singing, and a lifetime on the road.

Alongside beloved wife and fellow singer-songwriter Joy McKean, Slim travelled more than two million kilometres across the rich geographic spectrum of the Australian backblocks.

How many Australians would have regularly visited – let alone crooned for their supper – in the following locations: Bulahdelah, Nabiac, Brewarrina, Walgett, Yanderra, Cudgera, Metang, Bruthen, Metung, Narooma, Peppimenarti, Aramac, Kynuna, Cocklebiddy, Menindee? In fact, how many Australians would know where they are?

Joy’s recent memoir of their musical odyssey and travel itinerary is appropriately titled, I’ve Been There (And Back Again).
